This site has been created to keep all supporters of the RAHMAN CHILDREN informed about the events surrounding this case of injustice.
RAHMAN CHILDREN were removed from their family on April 9th, 2005 following an incident, with their 26 month old cousin—Aisha—who was in temporary care of their mother.
Aisha had a history of seizure, and was in constant care of medical professionals. Her undiagnosed medical conditions were still being investigated by the medical specialists when she passed away.
Nonetheless, Aisha’s cause of death was determined by the doctors as being Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS): A Highly Controversial topic within the medical profession. Thus the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) citing concerns for the welfare of RAHMAN CHILDREN removed them from their family’s care, and placed them under the Ministry appointed Foster Home.
Despite the fact that there were three independent witnesses, the Mother was accused of Aisha’s death. Despite the fact that the three older CHILDREN, aged 3,4, & 5 years old had provided the testimony to the RCMP that their cousin had a seizure, fell off the chair, and hit her head on a concrete floor, it was disregarded.
The case went before the B.C. Supreme Court. Honourable, Mr. Justice W.G. Grist, after listening to a 27 day marathon of testimonies, which included the recorded testimony of their children, His Lordship, concluded:
“I think it is essential in this case to keep in mind the evidence of the events as they unfolded given by these various witnesses.”
“Accordingly, the accused should be discharged."

Honourable, Mr. Justice W.G. Grist
Ignoring the B.C Supreme Court verdict, the Provincial Court has ordered that these children be placed on a Continuous Custody Order, the first step towards their adoption. And the Ministry continues to assert that there remains a significant unresolved risk of harm to the children if they were in the care of Mrs. RAHMAN, even though a Supreme Court judge has cleared Mrs. RAHMAN of any wrongdoing. This is contrary to the communities efforts which has tried diligently to mitigate the Ministry’s perceived unknown risk by offering various alternatives, and also psychological assessment—but to no avail. Instead, the Ministry has kept them away not only from their parents, but the entire community.
Nearly FOUR years have now gone by since Mrs. RAHMAN’s children were denied the right to live with anyone next of kin and placed in the care of the foster parent system. The children have suffered irreperable physical and emotional abuse under the care of the ministry. The family hasn't given up though! Both Mr. and Mrs. RAHMAN are still undergoing hadrship to reunite their family. However they need as much support as possible from the community. Please show them your support by making this case known to all those around you and by helping through any means possible as the family struggles to get their children back. Please check out The Ordeal section to learn more about their struggle and also the How You Can Help section to find out how you can help the children and donate towards this cause. Thank you.
